Grind

In gambling, the term grinding refers to making small bets for a long period of time. Players usually engage in grinding to make their chip bankroll last longer. Grinding is the opposite of high-rolling.

The practice takes its name from the analogy with grinding flour, because it is a monotone activity that is unlikely to result in large payouts.

«I am grinding at the $3-$6 tables, but want to move up another table.”
